Stowmarket Parish Church Cross Festival

OPENING TIMES 2024

We had 300 crosses on display in Church over the Easter holidays in 2023 and it was so well received that we are planning to do it again this year.

Crosses were all sorts of designs and sizes and made from wood to wool and sweet wrappers to motorcycle exhausts, so a huge variety were in Church for people to come and see. Groups, schools, business and individuals came up with some wonderful ideas.

You are invited to be part of our Cross Festival at Easter 2024. Crosses can be made of almost anything you have available and be any design and size. We have a big Church and can accommodate hundreds of them. If you can’t actually make a cross, how about decorating one or colouring one in? There are many ideas or patterns that can be downloaded from the internet. There is no charge and crosses can be made from almost anything. We encourage you to think of the Easter story and be creative.

It is a good opportunity for schools to talk about crosses and design some as part of the curriculum. Organisations or groups of friends could get together and make some over a cuppa. Families might like to be creative together. It is open to all and there is no charge to be part of it.

Crosses are found all over the world in so many styles and sizes, they are worn as jewellery and are a reminder of all that Jesus has done for us.

Bring your crosses into Church on Friday 22nd March between 10am and 3pm and we will display them. It is that simple. Please email office@stowmarketparishchurch.co.uk or call 01449 678623 so we know to expect you. If you have any questions call 01449 678623.
