Christmas Tree Festival

Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival 2024 – This will be our 20th Year.

November 23rd – December 24th

Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival is a community event by the community and for the community. The Church provides the trees and the lights and then they are decorated by different local groups. The creativity and the standard amazes us each year. We have a big church and so ask the decorators to think big and they do. We love it and hope you will too.

Opening Ceremony – Friday 22nd November 6pm. Doors open 5.45pm.

Lights switched on by Charlie Haylock.

Charlie Haylock is a famous suffolk entertainer. He has written books about the Normans and their impact on Suffolk, as well as books about the Suffolk language.

Many will know him as the dialect coach to Ralph Fiennes for teh role of Basil Brown in ‘The Dig’. This was a Netfix film about the famous Anglo Saxon finds at Sutton Hoo.

Not only is Charlie coming to swith on the Christmas Tree light for us at teh church, he will also answer questions about his life. After the grand switch on he will remain to chat to people and sell books and merchandise.

Setting up the Festival – We will take the Christmas trees out of storage and set them up from 11.30am on Sunday 10th November. Offers of help on that Sunday and for the following 10 days will be gratefully received. A hot dog lunch will be provided for volunteers on the 10th.
