Not just restoration
Being the Church means knowing how we can best use our buildings - that will mean REORDERING. To help the Church to be of even greater use to the community we are planning to improve disabled access, provide toilets, a welcoming reception and an area to prepare and serve refreshments.
How can it be done?
We have some money in the former Restoration Fund but English Heritage cannot give grants because demands from other churches around the country are so great.
There are local groups and trusts who may help and we are grateful for having already received a generous donation for the stained glass windows. Thanks also to The Suffolk Environmental Trust & Mid-Suffolk District Council for grants of £10,000 for work on St Peter's Hall.
The 3Rs Project was launched at our Flower Festival and Gift Day in August 2004. Since then we have had Indoor Boot Sales, Coffee Mornings, Cheese and Wine evenings, Christmas Tree Festival and a Talent Contest to add to the funds.
